Smarta Healthcare offers a Pharmacy and Healthcare services for patients, carers, businesses, residential and care homes, GPs and hospitals. We are an NHS-approved pharmacy dispensing hub based in Bedford, United Kingdom.
Healthimax offers online shopping and delivery of a range of health products to consumers and care homes across mainland UK, as well as comprehensive health checks and MaxFit personal training services.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data

This policy ensures that Smarta Healthcare complies with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FoIA). While the majority of our work as a privately-owned company is not covered by the FoIA, it does apply to the services we provide on behalf of the NHS. Therefore, we will handle FoIA requests in accordance with this policy.
Scope of Freedom of Information Policy
The objectives of this policy is to:

The FOIA grants the public access to information we hold related to the services we provide on behalf of the NHS. This is achieved in two ways:
- Smarta Healthcare is required to publish specific information about our NHS-related activities.
- The public has the right to request information regarding Smarta Healthcare’s NHS services.
The Freedom of Information Act applies to any recorded information held by public authorities. However, it does not grant individuals access to their own personal data. For personal data requests, please refer to the process outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Smarta Healthcare remains committed to upholding all aspects of the FOIA and will continue to promote its principles while ensuring full compliance with the law.
How to Submit a FOIA Request
To make a request for information under the FOIA, please ensure that your request is:

- Include the applicant’s name and an address for communication;
- Provide a clear description of the information being requested.
Smarta Healthcare will strive to provide information covered by the FOIA free of charge whenever possible. However, in certain situations, we may need to charge for information in accordance with Section 9 of the FOIA. A fee notice will be issued, which must be paid within three months. Smarta Healthcare is committed to processing information requests as quickly as possible. By law, we are required to respond promptly and, in all instances, within 20 working days from the date we receive the request. A working day refers to any day that is not Saturday, Sunday, or a bank holiday. This timeframe for compliance may be modified in the following circumstances:
- If Smarta Healthcare requires clarification under Section 1(3) of the FOIA.
- If an extension is needed to assess the Public Interest Test as outlined in Section 10(3) of the FOIA.
- If a fee notice is issued in accordance with Section 9.
