Hepatitis A is a viral infection that primarily affects the liver.

Hepatitis A is characterised by inflammation of the liver and can range from a mild illness to a severe condition.

It’s caused by the Hepatitis A virus (HAV) and is typically transmitted through the consumption of contaminated food or water, person-to-person contact, consumption of raw or undercooked shellfish and poor sanitation.

Typhoid is a bacterial infection that infects the intestinal tract and can spread to other parts of the body.

It is sometimes referred to as "typhoid fever."
