Smarta Healthcare wins prestigious pharmacy industry award!
Smarta Healthcare celebrates Baljit Kaur’s win at the 2023 Pharmacy Business Development Awards in London, recognising her innovative work in developing patient-centred services. The blog highlights the success of AskMyPharmacist and Smarta Healthcare’s free medicine delivery service, which have improved access to healthcare and expert advice while supporting communities during ongoing pressures on NHS services.
The awards took place in Central London on the 4th October 2023, and are described as “one of the most prestigious events in the pharmacy industry calendar with the ‘who’s who’ of the pharmacy world attending”.
The Pharmacy Business Development Award, sponsored by Cipla pharmaceutical company, is awarded to “the community pharmacist who has developed a new and innovative idea for their business and developed it allowing it to become a reality”.
As co-founder and director of pharmacy services, Baljit impressed the judges with her development of our person-centred patient services, especially our popular AskMyPharmacist service that allows patients to book a consultation with a healthcare professional via online video call or over the phone. Medicine can then be delivered direct to a patient’s door.
The innovative service has increased the public’s access to expert health advice and medicine at a time of immense pressure on NHS services. Whilst GP surgery waiting times have escalated, Smarta Healthcare has been able to bridge the gap and provide a valuable health service to our patients.
Smarta Healthcare’s free door-to-door medicine delivery service was also highly praised for its focus on providing isolated members of the community in Bedfordshire access to pharmacy and health services.
